That’s Hawks’ apartment.That is the first thought that flashes across Touya’s mind, until a hollowing realization suddenly dawns on him.
Oh, wait.
Hawks doesn’t have his wings anymore.
Hawks is alone, surrounded by fire.
That image alone sent chills down Touya’s spine. A wave of discomfort, unease, and worry consume him in an instant. It happens too rapidly for him to even process those emotions, and he doesn’t have the time to unpack why he feels sick to the stomach just putting the words “Hawks” and “fire” next to each other. It is unbearable. It is unimaginable. It cannot be true. It cannot happen again. All he knows is he needs to go. He needs to get there quickly. So for the first time in months, he unlocks the door to his apartment. Surely, that will trigger the alerts on his ankle monitor.
He sprints, faster than his body can possibly keep up.
