Rule #126: Phoenixes and Suns are never permitted to share a romantic relationship with each other. Any pairing discovered to share these feelings for each other will be immediately separated. The Sun will not be allowed a new Phoenix while the Phoenix will be stripped of their magic and immortality.
I stared at the words on the page, reading them over and over again. Possibly hoping for them to disappear. I was able to pry my eyes away to instead gaze up at the loving, empathetic face of my Phoenix. I could tell it was just as confusing and painful to him as it was to me. Not loving Laurance wasn't an option. But how could I go on every day knowing that one day he could be taken from me because of it?
