“How lucky am I,” Qifrey mused, her hands ghosting across Olruggio’s hip, “To have such a beautiful witch laid out before me.”
Olruggio’s eyebrows pinched together as she scowled, finally meeting Qifrey’s gaze. “Lay it on too thick and I’m going to start making this difficult.”
“More difficult, Olly?” Qifrey asked innocently, smiling as she trailed calloused fingers across Olruggio’s bare skin. “I find that difficult to believe when you were the one who suggested the rope.”

Summary
Agott trusts Olruggio more than she trusts Qifrey, and perhaps that is because Qifrey's longing is occasionally too big to be silent. He imagines that it hangs in the air like a sour smell when he takes her shopping for robes or watches her curtsy neatly to the farmers when they buy freshly milled wheat. It is humiliating and shameful to covet girlhood like this, and every time he catches himself at it, a fear runs through him so sharp that it leaves bruises on his soul – the idea that anyone might see this as perversion is more than enough to keep his nights restless and his calm superficial. Qifrey is convinced that even Olruggio, whose comments over the years have ranged from endearingly naive to knowingly supportive, would be unable to bear witness to these tendencies without misunderstanding the root of the desire.

Summary
Qifrey initiates being with Olruggio, then pulls away, then initiates, and so it goes, ad nauseam. Olruggio doesn't know how to put an end to it, but why would he even want to? He always takes advantage of the time he's given with Qifrey. Always. Every time, again and again and so it goes... but he doesn't know that, either.

Summary
Outside of the window, Agott spots a neat garden that hadn’t been there when she first arrived, half-filled with crops ready for harvest. The other half is either bare or newly wet from Professor Qifrey tending to it just a few moments prior. She questions why he always chooses to do it in the peak heat of afternoons, but like many things, she doesn’t actually voice it out.
Like asking why he and Master Olly stopped sharing the same bedroom.

Summary
Each chapter is a different slice of life moment from around the atelier. It starts with Agott's arrival and goes post-deforestation. Lots of yearning and then figuring things out between Orufrey and love between everyone as their family grows.

“What are you doing?” Qifrey looked up to find Olly standing in the hall, one eyebrow slightly quirked.
Qifrey meant to say he was fine, that he was just remembering their days as apprentices, that Agott was settling in well, or even that Olly was so good with her.
What he actually said was, “What if she drowns in the bath?”

Summary
Olruggio’s heart is pounding hard, so much he fears it might burst out of his chest. Usually, the reasons behind something like that are either strenuous physical activity or a stressful deadline, but, right now, he can’t quite blame it on any of those.
It’s Qifrey, pressed up flush against him in a narrow alleyway.Or: Qifrey keeps everyone at arms' length, even during sex. Olruggio tries to bridge the gap anyway.
