There’s no gain in pacifism.
At least, that’s the mindset Seunglok resolves himself with. It doesn’t matter whether the situation is a game of football with the guild, or a life-threatening thousandth rematch with Void crawlers- nothing is won out of backing off.
Perhaps that’s why he’s gotten his title- a ‘coinflipper’, with a performance unpredictable as the outcome of a gamble. Aggression has its risks, after all.
But risk is what keeps him on the edge of his seat.

The skies were a shadowed umbra.
Sometimes, the clouds would glimmer like downy cushions, goose-silver, tarnished and yet still gentle. Gentle, as in he felt at ease. Those clouds wouldn’t suddenly crack open and send hail pouring down to the streets.
Now, the darkness of the night beckoned a cacophony of voices. The rain, that beat at the roof of his car like hammers. The sound of tyres on the road; the quiet purr of the engine. So many things lurked in that black mist. Sanghyeok could almost feel the beady eyes tracking his vehicle. In these parts of town, it was best to keep your speed up.
