It’s simple, but he can’t help but watch her like a helpless, thirsty man as the hem barely reaches the backs of her creamy thighs while it flounces behind her. He notices that there doesn’t seem to be a sliver of fabric covering them and yep, he’s already dead.
Mark it on his grave as; “Here lies Mieczyslaw ‘Stiles’ Stilinski. Loving son and brother who died as a result of Lydia Martin’s successful attempts of seducing him by going commando in a dress.”

“Please, Stiles,” she pleads, and it reminds him so much of when he found her at Eichen House months before that he wants to scream for her. “Please. I love you, and I’m sorry.”
After that, there’s not much Stiles can say. All he can do is kiss her face, hold onto her and tell her he loves her, “so much Lydia, so so much” just the same as he did when he was in the third grade and try to prepare for loss just as he did at the ages of seven and seventeen.
Except no amount of prior experience with bloodshed and death can prepare him for when Lydia gives one last violent shudder against his neck.
“Be good,” she murmurs. “For me– please. You’re the one who always figures it out.”

Lydia Martin dies on a Tuesday night in January, wrapped in Stiles Stilinski’s arms while telling him she’s loved him all along.

But now Stiles is gently wiping the tears under her eyes with his left thumb as his other hand is clasping her wrist in an effort keep her here, just like he would during the nights of mathematical theorems and soft touches, and she really doesn’t know what she wants besides the inescapable urge of “more.”
When it comes to feelings, Stiles and Lydia aren’t bold about them. It mostly exists with them in touches, lingering glances and protective sentiments; but rarely in explicit words. However, it’s another time and place and Lydia wants it to be different. Better.

She knows she’s far gone past the point of ignorance and avoidance when she beams at him in an uncalculated, full-fledged instinctual way that Lydia has never been familiar with. With Stiles though, she finds it remarkably easy. He’s not shielding her anymore; he’s soothing the cracks in her soul with the honey that’s practically dripping from his eyes in a way that suggests that she doesn’t need to rely on facts nearly as much with him. She can be irrational, abstract, messy with him, and he will still be looking at her like she’s perfectly crystal clear.
Or, the five times Lydia tries to tell Stiles she loves him and the one time she did.
