Summary
After living in hell and accepting all of Huaizui's terms, being the perfect guqin player, an absolute star with a face known to all, Chu Wanning faces the unavoidable. He has to marry Tanlang. Or does he? What if he just ran away from all the bullshit? What if he let himself hide within the arms of the only person who ever made him feel he could be himself, Mo Ran? Even though that man is a reckless, stupid, slow-witted dog. Chu Wanning has to face his own fears and loss of control, and now he's not alone anymore. Running away from home isn't as easy, though, and even less so, with the police searching for him. (This fic has a trans chu wanning tag, but it's not entirely trans; it's gender discomfort, and he calls himself male, but since it's caused by trauma and he was not born with it, it's different, so just so you know)

Well, the aftermath of parent-teacher night.
Chu Wanning has planted his face on his desk - hastily straightened up in an attempt to seem more professional - while one of his 3D printers whirs behind him, slowly extruding something that, if Mo Ran squints, appears to be a sword.
Serious consideration of disembowelment is Chu Wanning's usual response to parent-teacher night, so that's normal.

Summary
Chu Wanning wants to save others, even if he can’t save himself. But that doesn’t mean others don’t want to save him. His shizun Mo Ran, for example, who found him half-frozen in the snow when he fled from the people he thought wanted to save others but were lying all along. Mo Ran, his mom, and the rest of Sisheng Peak give Chu Wanning a fire and a light and a home, and he thinks he might be able to save himself after all.
And for these people, he’d do anything. Even if it means abandoning that very hope for salvation.
(Even if it means forgetting the sword riding lessons and the clam chowder and even why he can’t bear to take off that red pendant clasped so tightly around his neck.)

Summary
Everything had been going very fine; Lauren getting her detective post back, Kym and Lucas getting discharged from the hospital and soon returning to work and Lauren randomly wishing Kieran a happy birthday in the cafe, they went together to celebrate her promotion. It has all been going too well to think that soon Lauren and Kieran will be put in a situation that will leave them with more pain and agony than they can think of.
Ps- Lauren getting on PS hit list and then getting kidnapped by Redcliffe. Lauren being tortured and Kieran rescuing her with everything he has.
