Summary
Twyla, a teenage girl with an attitude and a bit of a cussing problem, has been Bella's best friend practically since birth. After her parents died when she was young, Renée, Bella's mom, took her in and raised the two together. They both moved to Forks to live with Charlie -- and while Bella immediately became entwined in the supernatural life that awaited her, Twyla had her reservations. Believing Bella to be blinded by rose colored glasses, Twyla stepped up to keep her safe in this brand-new world. The best thing that could've happened, in her opinion, was the Cullens leaving, because even though Bella was heartbroken, her life was no longer in danger. Until the danger of the supernatural world continues to seek her out, and Twyla is forced to reconcile her fears with the life her best friend has chosen to lead.

So, we've met our brave heroes and thwarted death, destruction, ghosts, monsters, unhealed familial trauma from our tragic backstories... yeah, that's going to come up again.
Now, as our character list expands, we learn that the black-and-white, good-and-evil worldview we've had thus far might be nothing more than a fairytale. We find obstacles - both old and new, physical and emotional, easy and difficult. Our favorite characters may become our least favorite. A random side comment may come back to bite us in the ass. Relationships may continue to grow or be severed abruptly. Details we thought were irrelevant turn out to be life changing. Everyone may turn out to be even more oblivious, hypocritical, and emotionally stunted than we previously thought. Whatever happens, only one thing is clear: the world will never be the same.
With my own spin on it, of course, because I'm the one driving this bus. And as my pal Dean said so eloquently, "Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cakehole."
