Summary
Alternative timeline where Hans never confessed at Suchdol and went on to marry Jitka while Henry drifted away. But then, almost two years into his marriage, Jitka dies in childbirth, leaving Hans with his newborn son. He’s completely at a loss, scared and overwhelmed, and grieving Jitka, because even though he never loved her the way she deserved, she did share his life, if only for a little while. He avoids torture, he avoids dungeons, he avoids anything that makes him feel like he's back there.
