Summary
Ryan Whelan knew fear. He had only known fear all his life. There was a rot inside him that threatened to spill out and poison everything around him.
Ryan should not be getting this close to a boy as beautiful as Naim Reid. The poisoned rot could not be allowed to taint the only good thing that Ryan had in this lifetime.
Any yet, Ryan wanted.
But could he want Naim Reid enough to be brave.

“Sorry,” Ryan didn’t sound sorry. “Seriously, come on. Just one? For me? I’ll let you take a swing at me if you don’t like it.”
He waved the pack in front of Naim again as if that would increase its appeal. The grin on his face was infuriating, but Naim liked proving people wrong, so he plucked out a single cig with an angry mutter.
“There ya go,” Ryan praised and leaned in. His own cig was still burning while Naim had his between his lips, new and unlit. He kept his eyes on Naim’s as he brought the tips of their cigarettes together.
“Breathe in,” he guided quietly. “Slow.”
