    To say that Maru woke up on the wrong side of the bed would be an understatement. Rather, Maru woke up with his head feeling like it’s being drilled with a jackhammer, and his insides feeling like someone had cut him open, dumped a ton of knives in, before stitching him back up.

    On the plus side, it was thankfully a Saturday and he didn’t have any classes.

    On the downside, however, he had promised Tsurugi to meet him at the little cafe down the street for lunch.

    ふうりん ; 風鈴

    lit. "wind-bell"


    Small Japanese wind chime – often made of glass – and hung with a narrow paper strip called a tanzaku, usually with a wish written on it. Typically used during hot summer days in Japan. During the Nara period, they were hung in temples and shrines to ward off evil spirits. Nowadays, they are used to comfort people during summer, with soft chimes carried by the cooling wind. They are often identified as "the sound of summer".
