Nanny AU
“You need a purpose, Tim. You need something to do, and someone to help. Lucy needs help with Nora and with fucking Caleb. You could be Nora’s Manny and her bodyguard. If Caleb tries to touch her, Tim will tear his arms off,” Genny says, turning her attention to Lucy, and Lucy cracks a small smile.
Tim stares at his sister for a long moment, because he is not a fucking Manny, but at the same time…
Nora looks up at him with wide, brown eyes, and Tim remembers the way she had stomped to show him her light up shoes, and Lucy looks like she’s actually considering it, which is huge, he thinks, because he’s a fucking stranger.
“I can’t pay much,” she says finally, and Tim takes in a shuddering breath because is she actually considering this?

“To the end of the world,” Lucy murmurs, and she doesn’t know if it’s the look in his eyes, the desperation of the moment, or the knowledge that the world might be ending and they may never get another chance that propels them forward.
Tim smirks, her heart thunders in her chest, and she takes a single step closer to him.
“Whenever that may be,” he says, and then he’s raising the glass to his lips and taking a long swig. Lucy mirrors the movement and then licks her lips, the tequila burning down her throat as Tim stares at her, his own lips wet with the whiskey he’s clutching in his hand.
“Tim,” she breathes, because despite the fact that he hasn’t let her be afraid yet, she is a little bit.
“Lucy,” he murmurs.
She doesn’t know who moves first, just that, later, it keeps her up at night.
OR
Chenford hooks up during the missile threat and there are consequences.
