Summary
“Shush. You’ve worked enough, I had my day off, I’m doing this for you.” She set down their plates and sat next to him.
“But I still want to help you, Mel, I like helping,” he said, still frowning. “If I help you I’ll feel better.” It was true, and part of why he had joined the ER. Every second of a shift, helping somebody.
She sighed, knowing he wasn’t giving up. “Alright, you wanna help?” Frank nodded. “You wanna give me a massage?” Frank's eyes lit up, and his frown flipped into a grin immediately. She (lightly) whacked his arm. “A back massage. A normal massage.”
“Mhm, of course, what else would it be?”or, Frank has a bad day and wants to help Mel out, a massage on the couch turns into good times in the bedroom wink wink smirk smirk

Summary
As she flicked the needle with her gangly fingers, Frank felt himself on the precipice of a cliff. Just one step over and he’d free fall. He’d tumble on his way down, hitting jagged rocks and trees and sediment, and when he flattened on the bottom, this is where he’d be forever. Forever fucking sorrowful junkies in fetid apartment complexes, clamoring for disgusting, contaminated drugs. Losing himself in God knows how many miserable ways to get them. Lying, stealing, cheating. How many more small indignities he’d make himself suffer until Frank Langdon was gone completely, and in his place a miserable husk of a man, an unrecognizable beast.
The escalation of Frank Langdon’s drug addiction after he’s fired from PTMC, which eventually leads him to check into rehab.

Summary
Mel hates frat boys. She has a special, dark place in her heart saved just for them. These loud, ego-centric, overconfident boys, all going to the same hairdresser apparently, pretentious, cocky, gray-sweatpants-wearing jocks, never prepared, but always distracting, whisper-shouting, eating chips in the last row of the classroom.
Which is why she is anything but thrilled when the suggested tutoring for some extra money ends her up with frat boy and hockey player Frank Langdon.
Or: Mel and Langdon meet in med school.

Summary
“Hmm…” She clacked the keyboard quickly, “Langdon, you say?”
He nodded once more, his eyes left the clerks and looked over at Mel. The crinkles that usually came from smiling were prominent just from exhaustion. He was still ridiculously handsome and it really wasn’t fair. She sipped from her water bottle in her hand.
“There it is!” She exclaimed brightly. “Honeymoon suite for Langdon.”
“What?” She choked on the water in her throat and coughed roughly. “Honeymoon suite?”
Frank’s eyes grew a mile wide, almost bulging from his skull. “No.. No.. There’s been some kind of mistake. I booked two queen beds.”

Summary
“Walk me through what you’re thinking.”
Dr. Langdon’s voice came from behind her. Before she had the chance to turn, he stepped closer, leaning over her shoulder to look down at the screen.
It happened so fast. The warmth of him at her back. The clean scent of soap mixed with coffee and something else she couldn’t place. His hand reached around her to point at something on the screen and for half a second, his arm brushing against hers and she became acutely aware of the little space remaining between their bodies.
Her pulse stuttered. Any explanation she had died in her throat, instead only a quiet, choked noise came out. She was effectively frozen, completely against her control.
What the hell?

5 + 1 trope for Kingdon Week: 5 times Mel felt Langdon from behind & dealt with the emotional fallout, +1 when she let herself go and enjoyed him.
