    Mr. Fool merely raises ‘His’ hand. With a clip of ‘His’ two fingers, an overturned black top hat adorned with brilliant red feathers flickers into existence. ‘He’ extends it out.

    Eagerly, the boy reaches out to take the hat only to catch sight of the potion glass nestled inside, one churning with the colors of the sunset. He lifts his head with widened eyes.

    “Your name shall be Merlin Hermes—” Mr. Fool says with a soft smile, ‘His’ words branding themselves into the boy’s soul—“a magician born from a wishing well.”

    Or: how Mr. Fool grants the wish of a dying boy.
