And he’s thinking it, still, as he drags his eyes up the length of Lestat’s long legs. And when they catch on the sway of his hips. And when they stutter on the place where his svelte waist is hidden behind his oversized sweatshirt before tripping up his chest and landing on that soft smirk that says I know, that says But I won’t say it because I know you don’t want me to.
He’s thinking about it up until their eyes meet, then he abruptly cuts off the thought where it began.

But it wasn’t true. He loved Lestat so much he sometimes felt like the weight of it crushed him. He could hardly breathe, sometimes, blindsided by his love for Lestat, could feel it swirling inside of him, trying to make its way out, ready to split his skin open with how powerful it was. Louis hadn’t always been honest about it but it had always been true nevertheless.
or, Louis doesn't tell Lestat he loves him enough. He decides to change that.

His tongue snakes its way out of his mouth, he gives small, gentle licks to start as a way of testing the waters. The salty taste of him makes him shiver with excitement—and something more—as he groans. He grips Lestat’s arm harder than before and, with newfound confidence, starts lapping at it, collecting the day’s built-up sweat on his tongue and savoring every last bit of it. His eyes remain on Lestat’s face as he does so. He finds it makes him feel electric to know he’s completely unaware of what’s happening to him as he rests as peacefully as he is.
