Summary
Odysseus decides to spare the infant he finds in Troy, disregarding Zeus's warnings and his own fears for Ithaca. The story once laid before him by the Fates is now changed, and Odysseus will find himself fighting for family both at home and at his side.

"If he closed his eyes, he could dull the violence behind him into a static hum. The shouts and shrieking steel could be mistaken for the crashing of waves into weather-beaten rocks. They were close enough to the coast for the wind to carry the smell of salt and brine to where Odysseus sat on Troy’s walls, at a crenel that opened to a view of the Aegean shore and its rivers. There was enough light to trace the churning waters and winding paths."

Summary
Patterns and echoes of what she knew was supposed to happen - she could see them everywhere. She was what was wrong in the picture, the thing that shifted everything and caused devastating changes, and yet even then the weave of history showed a similar image to what she had expected.
Being reincarnated into the body of an Elf, growing up in Rivendell, it had always sounded like a dream to her. It was both a dream and a nightmare. Love and grief were inseperable for her, even when she was surrounded by people who were supposed to be immortal. The future loomed menacingly ahead, promising war, love, and even more loss.
She didn't want it. She wanted freedom to choose her own fate, and she wanted the freedom to explore Middle-earth.
What would you do with three thousand years? Well, she certainly wasn't going to spend them sitting in Rivendell.Series
