    The year is 1930 and the economy is unravelling. In the wake of the Prohibition Act, bathtub and basement operations have sprung up across Chicago: illegally brewing and distributing alcohol. Yeonjun is a burlesque dancer under the stage name Ginger Rose Lee. Kai is an employed kid with enough training and talent to find his way around a piano.

    Yeonjun turned his back to Kai and pushed himself up in one motion, pressing his bare skin to the wood of the piano. He lay fully across the lid, stretching his legs as if he was waiting for a lover to come between them.

    He arched his spine, twisting in time to every note that Kai played. Then he sat up, slow and determined, tipping himself onto his knees and unlacing his bustier. He threw his head back, turning away from the audience.

    When he peeled away the satin between his thighs, leaving himself completely nude, it was for Kai’s eyes only.
