Summary
kiantu—blameworthy person
___When Lo’ak didn’t respond, Tsireya reached out and cupped his cheek with her hand—and he immediately leaned into her touch, nuzzling his face against her palm. His eyes raised to meet hers, and Jake’s breath hitched at the raw pain swimming in them. Jake quickly averted his gaze, the vulnerability in their shared look causing guilt to stir in his stomach at his eavesdropping. Whatever this conversation was, it was not meant for his ears—or anyone’s, other than theirs.
“You do not see the way they look at me,” Lo’ak whispered, drawing Jake’s attention back. Lo’ak’s tight features melted away as he continued, “My mom has barely spoken to me since Neteyam died, barely looked at me. And my dad—” his voice broke, and he cleared his throat as if trying to free the words lodged there. “He blames me. And he is right.”
[or: lo'ak breaks down in the wake of neteyam's death, tsireya is wonderful, and jake overhears and realizes he's made some parenting mistakes]

Summary
“I know, I know. I’m just—I’m really worried about him. Worried he’s gonna get hurt. I know he’s trying his best, but I feel like at some point he must see how reckless he’s behaving, right? Hell, I mean, just today he got into another fight.”
Neytiri agreed, “he did.”
“And he’s been talking back.”
“He has.”
“And he’s been sneaking around a lot with the chief’s daughter—”
“Yes, he has.”
Jake looked at her, confused, eyebrows furrowing, and all she did was smile ever slightly before moving in closer. She intertwined their arms and ran her nimble hands over one of his.
“Do you know who Lo’ak reminds me of?”

Jake’s realization that Lo’ak is exactly like him.

Summary
When the tulkun first returned, everyone else was nearby; all Tsireya could tell her spirit sister was that she met 'a boy'.
In a more private conversation with her sister, she explains how things changed since Toruk Makto's family came to her village seeking uturu. 'A boy' features prominently in her recollection, along with her struggles with her sensitive nature and the passive tendencies it creates.
