Amid the ongoing conflict between the UNSC and the Covenant, countless lives are being lost every day, with casualties running into the millions. In an attempt to bolster their numbers, more and more Replikas are being deployed by the military. The situation has reached a point where ships like the ORION-Class support vessel, The New Day, are no longer being resupplied with human recruits, but with Replikas instead.

In the ashes of the collective's tremendous downfall, she must discern not only who and what she truly is, but how to support and save all the lives depending on her. Yet, piece by piece, she—as much as they—begin to change and turn in ways neither side truly understands, drawn inexorably into a spiral that may save as much as destroy them all.

The year is 235 after the Galactic Advent. Civilizations across the Milky Way, united under the Galactic Federation, now struggle against the enigmatic and unrelenting Space Pirate threat. To combat this foe, the Galactic Federal Police keep watchful outposts in every corner of federally-controlled space. On the savage world known as SR-388, a biologic research team has just discovered something which should have been left forgotten beneath the surface.
This is a retelling of the Metroid story with a focus on worldbuilding and character development. It is also an experiment, being my first narrative work. Please let me know what you think-- not just about the story, but about the writing style, pacing, characterization, etc. I aspire to write original fiction, so your criticism at this point will be immeasurably helpful and greatly appreciated.Series
