    “Wait! Sorry—uh… warrior Na’vi!” I call. “I didn’t quite catch your name.”

I have to crane my head to the side to look up at him. He hesitates for a second before responding.

    “It is So’lek.”

    I blink.

    “Soleek?”

    “No. So’lek.”

    “So’lik.”

    “So’lek.”

    “Okay. So-leh-ek.”

He exhales through his nose, slow and controlled. “You are fighting the name.”

“Am not!” I protest, waving my hands as I search for an excuse. “It’s just… hard to say.”

“It is gentle,” he says evenly. Then, after a beat, “You are not.”

    or

A kinda faithful retelling of the video game Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora that explores the relationship between So’lek and Tamtey. It sticks as close as canon as possible with my own creative liberties thrown in.

    Summary

When Alma closed the cryochamber around her, Tamtey was expecting to sleep for a short while. Surely rescue would come promptly following the evacuation of TAP? Color Tamtey shocked when she learns she and her fellow Sarentu have been asleep, forgotten by the RDA and by the Resistance, for sixteen years, and they have been aging the entire time. Not only does Tamtey have to learn to be Na'vi, she needs to learn how to live and fight as a thirty-four year old Na'vi woman with only eighteen years of life under her belt. Wonderful.

AU in which the Sarentu slept during their 16 years in cryo, but their bodies continued to age. The story follows my personal playthrough of AFOP and sticks as close to canon as possible, with a few creative liberties and headcanons thrown in. I do not own AFOP or its characters (sadness)

“The Sky People corrupt everything they get their hands on.”
    ---
Since her liberation, Tamtey seems to have forgotten what peace feels like—as one adventure follows another, So’lek is constantly by her side. As a warrior, healer, and friend, he never lets her out of his sight, always mindful of protecting the clan he freed from TAP.
The clan to which he now finally belongs.

Eywa’s paths are winding, but in their search for the future, Tamtey and So’lek must follow them.
As the closeness between them grows, so does the confusion—are they still just friends, or is there something more?

    Summary

'Even if Tamtey could want him, which he doubts she ever would, he has no right to place that on her shoulders. She has spent far too much of her life fighting to reclaim what was taken from her, from her people. She cannot be pulled into the remnants of his past simply because he cannot control the direction of his own shameful thoughts.

This is not noble of him; there is nothing noble about dreaming of her like this.'

    OR:

So’lek is avoiding Tamtey following her rescue; she's determined to figure out why, especially when no one else can give her a clear answer.
