Living with Theo Raeken was hell.
It wasn't the fact that he was a chimera, or the fact that he was an asshole, and it wasn't even the fact that you had hated each other since Kindergarten. Theo Raeken didn't make your life hell because he was a jerk, Theo Raeken made your life hell because you liked him. Every little thing he did, every microscopic detail, from mowing the lawn to washing the car to walking around in nothing but a towel, made you flustered. At first, it didn't really affect you, you were neighbors back in Beacon Hills and you didn't really get along. You found it real easy to ignore him. That was, until college rolled around. You both decided you were going to the same college far away from everything you knew, and while it didn't please you that you'd be seeing him for another four years, you decided that when junior year came around, you would rent an apartment off campus and share it.

Silence.
That's all you heard as you covered your ears in a vain attempt to comfort yourself. The slick feeling of blood trickled down the side of your face as you gasped for air, crouching behind a busted piece of the Krei Corporations building to escape Callaghan's microbots. Your suit was tattered, ripped to shreds from all the damage you had taken, your helmet's faceplate was shattered completely, effectively cutting off your scanner, and not only that, the whole left side had been blown off, the side where most of your blood flowed. You couldn't hear anything from your left side, nor could you hear the team desperately calling out for you, the speaker in your helmet broken from the blast it had sustained. You were panicking, your breaths speeding up until you were more than sure you were hyperventilating.

“A-Are you sure about this?! This doesn't look very safe.” You whimpered softly, wrapping your arms around Hiro's waist tightly, burying your face into the back of his shoulder blades anxiously. You had never ridden a motorcycle before, and it always made you nervous when Hiro got ready to ride home to his aunt's cafe. Of course, Hiro teased you nonstop about it, but he always promised to wear his helmet and always said he'd call you when he got to his destination. This made you feel a tad bit better, but the fear you felt never went away when you saw his figure ride off.

You were always second best when it came to Theo Raeken, and it had always been that way.
Ever since you were little you two had been competitive, and it always seemed like you came in second. For the first couple years, it was okay, you didn’t really care about it and it wasn’t a big deal, that’s how friends were with each other. But then you started drifting away from each other, you started hanging out with more girls and he started hanging out with other guys, and that’s when it started to escalate. It wasn’t just about playful competition anymore, it was about who was the better person, and with it came a lot of cheating, name calling, pushing, shoving and arguments. From the day you entered the third grade, you were always at each others throats, and it lasted until one day, Theo moved away.

“Why?”
The tremble in your hands increases when he doesn’t immediately dismiss the idea.
It's taken you weeks to work up the courage to ask for this, an idea that sparked when Kratos’ firm hand pressed against your throat unwittingly grew into a fantasy that seems to play constantly in your mind. The thought of it has made you sick, from anxiety of telling him or disgust at yourself you cannot say, but it’s also had you slipping your hand between your legs in the dead of night when Kratos wasn’t home.

It was still miserably cold outside, the freezing hold of winter covering the backyard in a blanket of snow. You scanned the trees twinkling with frost through the window as you struggled to truly wake.
Drifting your gaze to the centre of the cabin, you eyed the abandoned cups of mead from the previous night, sitting by the ashes that once were the fire to warm your home. A hazard if left otherwise.
Even so, you found heat still engulfed you. A toned, broad chest pressed firmly against your back, and a protective arm around your middle. You wondered briefly if he awoke as well.
