It was just plain bad luck. Pierrot was heading to the café where his beloved was, but unfortunately, he ran into some bandits. He wasn't seriously hurt, of course, but unfortunately, he did injure his leg. Suddenly, the café's back door opened, and out came the lady of his heart. Pierrot thought he'd get some affection like before, and then hobble back to the circus to recuperate, but he certainly didn't expect what happened next.
