He hears her voice again in January. The weather drags him back to Romania, how much she'd hated him then. If he can't take you dancing...

“It’s a bad time,” Daniel whined. How to make Armand see? This monster so removed from human ambitions, the scale of Daniel's infuriatingly mortal life. “I’ve got a talent, you know, and this is part of using it.”
Then, just to be mean: “Maybe if you hadn’t been fucking with me I’d actually have done something already.”
“Whatever you need to tell yourself, Daniel.”
It was those words that flipped Daniel’s switch from placating spat to full on fight.

"No," Louis sighed. "Find something to do, acquaint yourself with the modern age. Movies have gotten a lot better."
"Alright," Armand nodded. The words ripped unwillingly from his throat, his chest. "Alright."
One year, and then a clean slate. A rebirth of sorts.
