Summary
“Fuck,” Julien spits out, and there’s something raw in his expression, something Occtis hasn’t seen since he knocked on Julien’s door that first night in the Schneffenkeep. “I thought you were dying. I thought Thimble and Teor and Cyd were all lost and then you started fucking dying in front of me.”
“I’m sorry.”
“I don’t want you to be—” his voice raises before he cuts himself off to take another breath. “I told you before that wherever you go, I will follow. I would rather not follow you into death at your family’s hands.”
-
After the tragic events at Obrimus Manor, Occtis and Julien begin to find peace in one another on their journey to the Golden Orchard.

Summary
Lucanis and Spite have been held captive by the Venatori for years now. But now that the so-called gods are dead, Zara Renata decides to gift her pet demon to Rook Laidir in hopes that it would buy the qunari's favor. Spoiler: it's not going to go the way she thinks it will.
Sequel to Mar-Merevas (It Doesn't Have To Be), but you probably don't have to read that first! What was going through Lucanis's mind after being "gifted" to the Veilguard by his Venatori captors post-game? (References to Lucanis and Spite's terrible time under the Venatori, but nothing on-screen)

Summary
“We would like to offer our sincere condolences regarding the passing of your husband,” Ethrand states in a lofty drawl.
Julien sees Aranessa’s jaw go taut. “Thank you for thinking of us in our time of mourning,” she grates out.
“Of all Houses, House Tachonis would never seek to downplay or invalidate the importance of a mourning period. However, certain circumstances warrant a loosening of the proscribed timelines.”
Julien’s jaw falls ajar. He can't possibly mean...?
“I fear I fail to understand you," Aranessa hisses. "Elaborate.”
“All this recent unpleasantness was the consequence of years of unfortunate misunderstandings between our two houses. In contravention of what one might expect, I am pleased to say that I am here with an entreaty of peace.”
Aranessa allows a long silence to transpire, one that seems to make even Ethrand uncomfortable. “I will hear the details.”
“In exchange for a lasting peace, we only seek to solemnize this new alliance with a vow.” Ethrand smirks. “Accordingly, my father offers you the hand of my brother Occtis in marriage.”
Julien looks down at the rug. If he doesn’t look down at the rug, he’s going to start shouting.

Summary
It was stupid to regret not following them because he had wanted to -- wanted to what? Kiss Julien Davinos? He knew what Julien was, knew what he had done to Thjazi. There was a world even now where they would be on different sides before long.
He watched dawn break through the window, and still the thought lingered. They were on their way to protect Thjazi's widow from whatever machinations had been put into motion by his death. Before, he had wanted so badly to go with Kattigan and Teor, to be back in the Torn Banner, sheltering behind Teor's shield or helping Kattigan trap rabbits. Now…he didn't know what to do.
A band of soldiers head to the Golden Orchard in search of answers. Unfortunately, the mountain road isn't peaceful.

Summary
Hera could see the way this man had put himself between her crew and Thrawn, who was still perched on the cot. At first, she’d taken his stiff posture as evidence of the rod up his ass that all high-ranking Imperial officials seemed to have. Now that the red glow of the ray shield was out of the way, though, she could see the way his skin was pale, drawn tight over the knuckles where he was tightly gripping the edge of the cot, and the shallowness of his breath. Whatever Thrawn had gone through to get captured by Saw, he was hurt. And whoever this human was, he cared about Thrawn’s pain.
_______________________________
After Saw Gerrara’s base of operations is compromised, the crew of the Ghost is forced to take two injured, high priority prisoners into custody to keep them out of the Empire’s grasp. However, the crew starts to question where the prisoners’ loyalties actually lie, and if they can be swayed to the Rebel cause.
