Summary
Emma Andersen thought she would earn her place in history by following in her father's footsteps as a premiere researcher of the Viking Age. After his untimely death, she takes over his latest archeological dig in Cookham, his final passion project. Her desire to honor her father's legacy leads her to living on site 24/7 and after camping out on an old pagan burial mound, she wakes up and finds herself in Cookham...ninth century Coccham, that is.
Thankfully, Emma is more prepared than the average person for a jaunt in medieval time travel, and she finds that the Lord of Coccham, Uhtred, is surprisingly accepting of a strange woman wandering into the village, as are his band of loyal warriors. The longer she finds herself stuck in the past, the more embroiled she becomes in the world she once studied. As she loses hope of ever returning to her time, she seeks out her place in the past—a place with real friendships and love—and perhaps even a place in history itself.

Summary
There is something wrong with Maekar. Baelor has known it from the moment of the first charge, when the horn sounded and Maekar… did not ride. Did not move at all. It is difficult to see what he is doing exactly, through the thick fog, but it is clear he is not moving.
Baelor shifts targets, taking Aerion off his horse in a shower of spear shards before Aerion and Dunk can even meet. He looks once at Maekar, still on his horse, before he wheels around. He cannot focus on Maekar. This is not like Redgrass, his task now is not to reach Maekar, not to defend Maekar. Not to help. Here, they are on opposite sides, and Maekar… whatever is wrong with him, it’ll keep until Baelor has the chance to deal with it.
