These are based on katzengefluster's Advice for the Young at Heart continuity, though they can be read independently. He also, briefly, held the Kanto record for youngest ever Pokemon League champion. That was until Red, three months younger, caught up to him.

Falco was a cocky, sulky, annoying bird with a highly questionable past, with habits perhaps thrice as questionable, who could hardly tolerate the team in the first place. He was chosen due to his background as a pilot, being the most qualified by a long shot. It was true that his role during the war was essential, but he was just so much of an annoying asshole that, now that the war was over, Fox had little to no reason to leave him on the team.
Yet, despite all of that, somehow, Fox would not let go of Falco so easily.
Having to deal with Falco Lombardi will make a year fly by.
