Ava comes back through the portal changed. Which was to be expected, Beatrice could anticipate longer tousled hair and even newly formed scars that the halo didn't seem to have the sufficiency to heal. (Even though she wanted to step into the portal and take care of whoever had given them, consequences be damned). She didn't expect, however, the large wings sprouting from Ava's back. She couldn't deny - no matter how hard she tried - that they were affecting her.

“Some people think a soulmate is the person God creates for you. Others say it’s the soul yours has been drawn to time and time again, throughout multiple lives. Some even believe that each pair was formed during the creation of the universe itself.” Beatrice looks up at the sky, as though she might find an answer somewhere in the long dead stars hanging above them. “I’ve always liked that one, actually; that the particles ripped into being alongside each other formed a connection that would last as long as our universe did. I’m not sure it makes much sense in practice. But it sounds lovely.”
“Less cruel, at least,” Ava murmurs, and Beatrice turns at the sadness in her voice, drawing in a sharp breath when she sees the emotion so amplified in Ava’s eyes. “Because a god who created the whole soulmates thing in the first place, told you that you don’t get one, and then made you spend your entire life telling other people about theirs kind of sounds like a huge asshole, if you think about it.”
Which is, of course, why Beatrice so often tries not to think about it. Especially when Ava is looking at her the way she is now and she’s reminded of all the things she’ll never have (all the things she desperately wants).

From the road, Ava could only make out their broadest features: a woman in a white tank top, her muscled shoulders tanned from the sun, an axe dangling casually in one hand. She had already placed a log in front of her, and as Ava watched she lifted the axe above her head and swung it downwards in a single fluid motion, the taut muscles of her arms working so perfectly with the axe they might have all been one. The log split easily into two, as though she were cutting through paper, and the woman picked up the two halves to place them into a neat stack nearby.
“Ah,” Schaefer said, catching the line of her gaze, “That’s Beatrice. Your new neighbor. Don’t mind her too much, she’s a little… eccentric.”
Ava liked eccentric. She also liked women who looked like they could tear her in half without too much effort. She had a feeling she was going to like Beatrice a lot.

Firefighters know the importance of good water pressure. Or, at least, that's what Ava would tell the crew when they asked why she always took a shower at the station.
The water pressure at Ava's apartment was shit, and the station always had hot water. So, every night, every morning, and sometimes, randomly in the middle of the day, Ava would take full advantage of the facilities.
Except that wasn't the whole truth. They really were great showers, sure, but the real reason Ava carefully planned every time she showered was what Ava was doing right now.
Sometimes, if Ava got the timing right and said just the right things, she could convince someone to join her in the shower.
So, tonight, during her second shower of the day, Ava was pressed against and three fingers deep inside one Lieutenant Beatrice Lin-Watson while the rest of their crew was obliviously watching Sharknado: The 4th Awakens across the firehouse.

Lex foi derrotado, não haviam mais mentiras entre as duas. Agora tudo dependia do quanto estavam dispostas a se dedicar para corrigir os erros que cometeram uma com a outra no passado. Mas o fato é que não poderiam mais voltar ao que era. Algo novo precisa ser construído sobre as ruínas, e pode ser exatamente o que elas precisam. Despidas de seus muros e defesas, ambas pretendiam dar passos, mesmo que incertos, nesse terreno que se abria diante delas.
Ou a versão do que eu gostaria de ver da relação delas na sexta temporada.
