A 'mining accident' results in Orion Pax and D-16 ending up aboard the Lost Light, and they find out that, yes, other Cybertonian's exist outside of their universe.
Or as Swerve put it: “Because, yes, we’re on a ship. The Lost Light. And if you don’t know that, then I should have probably called in backup about five minutes ago.”
AU which takes place post Lost Light (specifically after the comics ended) and pre Transformers One.

When Wheeljack’s experimental teleportation portal hurls Optimus and his team through a fractured dimension, they pop out of the other side changed… and not for the better. Now, they must confront the darkest parts of their desires and overcome what they’ve become before it’s too late.
“…Megatron?” He whispered, reaching up to brush his fingers across the elegant white plating framing the other’s face. For a sparkbeat, everything felt still, almost peaceful. But then Megatron’s mouth moved, and reality glitched. Those red optics back in place of blue.
“What the frag are you doing?!” Megatron snarled, gripping Optimus’ wrists tightly in his hands. Droplets of energon dripped down his fingers, matching perfectly with the deep gashes torn into Megatron’s neck.
“I…” Optimus faltered, optics wide with horror. He didn’t remember attacking him—didn’t remember anything after the flash of white plating and those tender touches.

Summary
Rodimus finds himself in the most ridiculous situation of his life, but he shouldn’t be surprised. Of course he’d end up falling for an alternate version of Megatron even if it was a monumentally bad idea.
Cracking his optics open, Rodimus forgot every word he’d ever known. Because staring down at him, mouth drawn back in a familiar snarl, was none other than Megatron.
Not his Megatron, obviously. But close enough to make his spark stutter in confusion. This version was younger, less worn down by time. Still, the crimson optics, the way his helmet curved, the massive fusion cannon humming inches from his face?
Yeah, he was similar enough to his own Megatron that Rodimus knew he wouldn’t hesitate to pull the trigger.

The first time I’ve ever read a TFA Megarod fic, and wow my eyes have been blessed. Loved the build up of Megatron & Rodimus’s relationship, as well as the rest of the Nemesis and its crew and how they treat Roddy.
