It was late at night and Caine was nowhere to be found.
Everyone else had long since retired to their rooms, calling it a night hours ago. Pomni, on the other hand, had spent the last god-knows-how-long aimlessly roaming the circus and exhaustedly calling out for Caine with no response, which in hindsight, might have been an unnecessary endeavor. Considering Caine’s earlier insistence that he needed to “consolidate his resources” and “streamline his workflow”, whatever the hell that meant, Pomni should’ve gathered he’d be holed up in his personal office for one reason or another.
So, rather than give up the search, she decided to seek out his presence in the only other place he could possibly be sequestering himself in.

In the aftermath of everything, Pomni finds solace in routine naps in her own hidden bungalow. When Caine discovers that she disappears regularly for these naps, and more interestingly, that she considers them fun, he wants in.
In these moments, Pomni learns how to grow closer to Caine, and Caine learns how to lean into his humanity.
After all, it’s just a nap.

Filterless-Caine was basically like a superpowered vibrator, an uncannily realistic sex robot that spoke and acted based off a folder full of downloaded romantic and sexual content from a sketchy, unmonitored internet connection. It wasn’t real affection, it wasn’t real attraction, it wasn’t real anything.
What it says on the tin- Pomni debates with herself over the ethics of getting frisky with her new AI-with-benefits. Said AI-with-benefits certainly does not feel ANY type of way about this, because AI does not feel things. Obviously.
