Summary
Nick and his mother have run an acclaimed but small restaurant, 25 Seats, for the past five years. When it starts to get a bit taxing on Nick handling it all alone, his mum Sarah suggests they hire in some kitchen help. Nick reluctantly agrees, and Sarah puts out a want ad, which is answered by an anxious young man with no previous kitchen experience. Nick sees him as a potential liability, but his mother hires him anyway. Charlie Spring gets in the way, botches food, and generally disrupts Nick's entire life, but there's definitely got to be a reason Sarah chose him, right?

Summary
The sun was beginning to go down. Maybe he’d just get something quick to eat at Tesco on the way home. Didn’t really feel like cooking. But he wasn’t exactly hungry, either, and he didn’t like to eat much the night before work, not when he needed to look good on camera. He nixed the idea of Tesco and got in his car, starting the ignition and letting it idle in the parking lot for a moment.
Charlie stared out of the windscreen.
Sometimes he had to just - sit for a moment. Alone. He loved how quiet and contained the car was after everyone talking to him and looking at him for hours and hours and hours.

Summary
