Deborah doesn’t expect what she sees when she finally works up the courage to lift her head. Incongruent; Ava looks furious, arms crossed, foot jiggling, eyebrows furrowed. Deborah feels swimmingly out of context, because Ava’s jaw is set like she’s about to throw a punch.
After the weekend in Montecito, Deborah needs to return to LA for a repeat surgery on the mass. Ava insists on being there with her through all of it. Some conversations continue, and some kisses are revisited.

They raise a glass.Later, Farah summons her strength and courage when faced with the person she had hoped she would never have to deal with again.
