His therapist tells him the urge to relapse is something everyone experiences at some point in their life, and that there’s no need to be ashamed of it. Of course it isn’t encouraged. But you don’t scorn the amount of land you’ve covered walking when you trip for the first time in a while. Recovery and relapse are two sides of the same coin and every now and then you get a penny when you wanted a dime. The urge is normal. Relapse itself is to be expected.
But Jesus, Steven does not want to relapse. Not here.
