Summary
Penelope was just trying to live her life when her childhood friend she hasn't heard from in three years showed up and pleaded with her to take in her child, temporarily she hoped. It was just too dangerous to travel with a baby and while Pen had always wanted a family, she didn't exactly want it to happen like this. She realized pretty quickly that she was going to have to hire someone, or most likely two people. A wet nurse, and at least one person to help with the ranch work.
Anthony was knocked out, robbed, and left with nothing more than a bit of amnesia. He was eventually pointed toward a widow's homestead where he could work as a ranch hand until he figured out what came next. He knew there was something important he was supposed to be doing but he couldn't remember what exactly.

Summary

Anthony has not met Kate (and will not meet her) and Colin is in love with Marina and completely unaware of Pen’s feelings for him.

Summary
