Summary
Wally’s knees gave out and he crumpled onto the grass. The air smelled like vomit but it was fresh, cold air and Wally finally had the privacy to wrench his cowl off and throw it as far as he could. It didn’t go far.
He tilted his head back. This far out, the sky was an inky blue and clear of clouds. A thousand stars shimmered above, unobstructed by artificial light and smoke.
Wally’s mouth opened, another sob building, except it wasn’t a sob that came out but a scream.
In another universe, Bruce Wayne never became Batman. Instead he became the Bat: Gotham's dark dictator. In another universe, Wally West became the Flash at eighteen. In another universe, nearly the entire Justice League is dead and the rest are struggling to keep the world together.
Wally has been the Flash for eleven years now; it's hard, especially when he doesn't know what he's fighting for anymore.
Maybe a trip to Gotham—which has been off-limits to League members for about a decade—would do him so good.

Summary
Alec has always settled for being the good Lightwood. His new life in New York is good. Befriending Clary Fray, kissing Woolsey Scott, and blazing his own path at Idris High are all good. But there's an amber-eyed boy who makes him feel like he could be great. The only problem is this boy is the enemy of all of Alec's new friends, especially Clary.
Magnus lives his life on repeat. He stays up all night finishing schoolwork then puts on makeup and a flashy smile for his camera. He regrets his choices but won't fix them. Someday his lies will catch up with him. But not yet. He just needs more time.
