Mega Ambler's gaze landed on a piece of tarp, folded neatly on a supply bench. He reached for it, shaking it out. It was a waterproof rain tarp. Ambler glanced back at Phoenix, who was still on the floor. Ambler hesitated, but took the tarp back with him and knelt beside the hyperventilating firetruck.
“Phoenix,” He said, not expecting a response. “I’m going to try something unconventional.”
No reaction.
He wasn’t sure if Phoenix could even hear him, but the belief in the voice mattered more than the logic.
“This tarp is fireproof,” Ambler said evenly, and threw it over his head.
Phoenix Fire has a panic attack.
