What if one stupidly horny choice in fifth year broke the timeline so thoroughly that by 1981 half the Order was sleeping with the wrong people, Regulus Black was alive, Peter Pettigrew was useful, and Voldemort' future dictatorship was about the be derailed by four twenty-one-year-olds, of which one is a traumatised widower, and a baby?
In another universe, Sirius Black played a cruel prank on Severus Snape and history marched obediently towards tragedy. In this one, Sirius realised halfway through fifth year that he wanted to shove Snape against the wall and kiss him until one of them lost the fight with gravity. History, understandably, never recovered.

The author over the gin and tonic joked about that Harry Potter was full of what if's and one moment later that she decided to write a spin of What if series. Nobody was surprised by it, not even her.

Summary
Hermione’s life had always followed a very simple logic: study harder than everyone else, think three steps ahead, and never leave anything to chance. It was how she survived the war, how she rebuilt the wizarding world afterwards, and how she became the youngest Parliamentary Under-Secretary the Ministry had ever seen.
At twenty-two Hermione dragged Sirius back from death itself. After that they spent two years circling each other in that dangerous space between friendship and something far less sensible. Glances that lingered too long. Arguments that felt suspiciously like flirting. A man learning how to live again and a witch who had never quite learned how to stop surviving.
Then Hermione turned twenty-four.
Six months later, Sirius has discovered something the rest of the wizarding world seems to have missed entirely: Hermione Granger is not nearly as sensible as everyone believes she is.

Summary
