Ilya gets a certain way sometimes.
Usually it's when he seems more withdrawn, when something reminds him of the things that make him sad, a memory about his mother, a nightmare about his father. Or after they lose a game, or when he's especially worn out or exhausted, or when he and Shane have been apart for a little too long (it's always too long). And sometimes it's just because he seems to need it in some inexplicable way, to reset himself and ground him in softness.

There's something so... soothing about this.
Being sat at Amy's feet like a dog. Reduced to an accessory, just something to be quiet and sit pretty for people to look at. Well, just for her to look at. She wouldn't let anybody else see him this way, and he wouldn't want it either, because he's hers. Hers. The thought makes his head spin every time he's reminded of it.
