Summary
Ryland is supposed to be in a coma, heading towards Erid, but he was woken by Rocky frantically banging on his bunk, and god knows how many times Earth's gravity pressing on his chest. The Hail Mary is burning fuel at an unimaginable rate, and Ryland has no idea what's going on, and neither does Rocky.
Ryland finds themselves orbiting a horrifyingly red planet, how they got there and why is up in the air.
The Hail Mary accidentally connects to rogue radio signals coming from it.

Summary
It's the day after Grace pulled Simon out of the Iron Lung, the Hail Mary is still in orbit of AT-5. Simon's wound is still fresh, disgustingly so. It's time to change the bandages, where fluids from his arm have soaked through and made the gauze its scab.
