"You should see a doctor," Dottore said, his voice low and precise, cutting through the muffled quiet of the snowfall.
The man's eyes opened. They were violet—a shade Dottore had never seen before, like amethyst catching light. For a moment, they simply stared at each other.
"I have," the man said finally. His voice was smooth, cultured, with an edge of exhaustion. "They've done what they can."
"Then you should see a better doctor."

Summary
Sora has always lived inside other people’s thoughts. Their voices are foreign to her. Their secrets are not.
Raised in isolation by a powerful man, she is useful and therefore carefully controlled. At a ball, a series of events draws the attention of two Harbingers: Pantalone and Dottore.
Then her father vanishes, and Sora is pulled into their world. What begins as protection slowly becomes something warmer and far more dangerous. She begins to want what she has never been allowed to want.
But her hidden abilities are growing, and so is the attention surrounding her.

Pantalone came to Dottore about an inquiry on his next experiment. Dottore, who had already been plotting behind his back, agreed to get it started on right away..
The sapphire painted walls reflected the dimmed lights of the lab. It is quiet, with the occasional clashing of glasses being placed onto the marbled table and a long sigh coming from the individual within. Quiet nights like these were certainly not unfamiliar to the second of the Fatui harbingers. Nobody usually bothered to come and visit him inside his laboratory, apart from the ninth harbinger, The Regrator. The pair were commander and subordinate, until The Regrator lived up to The Doctor’s recommendation, and made it as a respected harbinger of the Fatui with his own skill. The laboratory air is cold, with a mortuary just a room away, it would give anyone a cold chill had they waltzed in unprepared. Dottore lifted a thin vial, with a strange luminous liquid inside it, tilting it to the side. His expression was sheltered by the pointy mask that sat on his nose, but underneath it was a gaze full of curiosity. Per usual, he was experimenting. With even the smallest results, he was not satisfied. Dottore was a man of perfection, after all.
