“I’m nearly 15 years older than you, boy. So, to me, you’re quite young,” the man said with a mirthless chuckle. “But at least you are attractive, so there’s that. Beggers and choosers, you know?”
“Wow, aren’t you a romantic?” Levi could almost kick himself. This was probably his wealthiest client to date and he has done nothing but be a total ass since he walked into the room.
“Come now, Levi. We are both aware of what this situation is, and I no more expect romance than you do. Unless I am mistaken. Are you expecting romance, Levi?”

Summary
In no time, he’s done with the bottom shelf. He examines his work with satisfaction, and he stands up from where he’d been crouching, ready to start on his next row of books.
But just then.
“Excuse me?”
It’s as if his very world shifted on its axis. He feels his lungs physically empty of air, and his vision all but whites out for a split second. Levi doesn’t move, and the person standing to his right, which his peripheral vision finally decides to pick up on, doesn't either.
When Levi finally does speak, it's a pathetic, confused wheeze. “What?”

What would Erwin have done, if he had lost Levi that day without ever having showed him how much he wanted him, without ever having touched Levi, or held him like this, tightly, as if he couldn’t stand to let go, or kissed him again — really kissed him, until he was breathless and red-faced and clinging to Erwin because his knees had gone weak — in the way that he actually deserved?
He didn’t know, but the thought alone was enough to put the overwhelming sense of relief, desire, and joy that he felt now into overdrive, because Levi was alive, oh yes, he was definitely, undeniably alive, Erwin thought, warm and solid and breathing in Erwin’s arms, pressed against his body, and kissing him in a manner that left no doubt in Erwin’s mind that he felt the same way too.
