Helplessly, he watched as Ilya reached down to scratch various patches of his skin — softly at first, at the base of his neck, then more aggressively along the backs of his hands.

After the terrible conditions during the Qatar Grand Prix, all Charles wants to do is relax in his hotel room and watch the Disney movie Cars, but a call from Sebastian Vettel puts an end to his peace.
The entire grid had just raced non-stop in debilitating heat, making a fair number of drivers feel ill after the race. From watching footage at home, Seb believes something needs to be done as soon as possible.
What's the greatest way to make an impact? Call a driver's meeting.

Summary
After hearing that Max was the one to leave the 2021 season victorious, Charles suddenly finds himself feeling proud of his childhood nemesis. Though the two haven't been friendly in the past, the Ferrari driver begins to value the relationship he's been able to create with Max on track. While out partying after the 2021 Abu Dhabi grand prix, the two lifelong rivals finally find the time to confess some hidden truths to one another, and they become closer as a result.

Until moments with Ilya and the Raiders show him exactly why he chose correctly.

Hayden’s eyes flickered to Shane as he sat on the bench, chewing on the edge of his mouth guard.
“Don’t fucking look at him,” Ilya insisted as he bent down for the faceoff.
“Excuse me?” Hayden mumbled, eyes darting back to him.
“You heard me,” he retorted, his tone clipped. “He’s not your teammate anymore; he’s mine. If you think Marlow is a problem to your game, wait until you see what I will do to your team if you hurt anyone on mine again.”
Hayden scoffed, dipping his head as he tried to focus on the game. Something about Ilya’s words still rang through his head though, sounding so definitive that he didn’t want to risk seeing what he was actually referring to when he said that.
The puck dropped again, and Ilya stole it before he could comprehend how quickly it happened.

Summary
I found what I thought was a fine piece of wood and started to whittle away at it. Patroclus was better at this than I. I had meant for it to be a statue of him holding a bowl of figs instead it barely looked human. Chiron had laughed when I first showed it to him. My cheeks turned red and I threw the wood at him. The inhumane statue bounced harmlessly off his chest which drew an even deeper laugh from him.
It was the first time I had heard him laugh from his chest, “I believe Patroclus would still like it, but if you wish for me to show you I will.”
It took us a couple of months to whittle it into a shape that resembled him. It wasn’t nearly as lavish as I wished it to be, but it was enough to bring a grin to my face. It was enough to bring a grin on Patroclus' face as well.
“They can be together,” Patroclus said as he stood back to stare at the two statues.
“I hope they stay like that,” I added, “I hope they stay together.” I turned to look at him and neither of us had to say that we hoped the same for us.
