Summary
The Terran Accord needs a miracle. System after system has fallen to the Affini Compact, crawling ever closer to Terra and the Sol System. Deep within the Capitol, ten experts have been summoned for Operation Battery Staple, a last ditch effort to find anything that might stem the bleeding and give the Accord a chance. Mark Solak, analyst, is among those experts. It’s up to him to keep a clear head and figure out how to use everything the other experts create.
It’s also going to be his job to secretly reach out to the Affini and figure out what the proposed Human Domestication Treaty actually means. Determine if the absurd terms contained within are just misdirection, or if they’re somehow the actual terms for peace.

Summary
Set in GlitchyRobo's Human Domestication Guide setting.
Humanity has been invaded by a precursor race of hypercompetent plant dommes called the Affini, and forcibly given paradise in a post-scarcity culture that heavily prioritizes the care for its protectorates, to the point of drugging and mind-controlling them into a blissful reverie if necessary. For almost everyone this is a vast improvement. All that's required is to give up any silly notions that anyone except for the Affini know what's best for everyone; in many cases the poor things clearly don't.
Chloë Sulla, our protagonist, has been running for too long. Clover Fabaceae, Fourth Bloom has plenty of experience with those who can't slow down. When you finally come face-to-face with the thing you've been trying to avoid all this time, do you have the courage to stop?
This story uses emoji to represent the Affini languge, including the names of some characters. If this is distracting or difficult to follow, most instances of this can be converted to English by using the "Hide Creator's Style" button at the top of this page.

–The… aurora borealis interferes with all forms of electricity outside of the most basic short-wave radio.--
Fox frowned. The way they described the aurora. Almost like they weren't used to the word.
Their entire accent was odd. Maybe it was just how calm they seemed.
Maybe after so long Fox was just starting to lose it. When was the last time she'd spoken aloud to another person?
“Yeah.” She assented, leaning forward on her elbows.
“That's the second rule. No using the radio unless the aurora is running hot. That's how they find you."-
After three long years, a specialist is called in to extract one of the last remaining humans hiding out in the remotest part of an abandoned world.
