Grief is the promise of a storm that lingers, a chill that seeps straight into your bones that will never leave. Grief is the feeling of the sky collapsing and the weight of your regret.
But grief is never instantaneous.

Spoke blinked once and grinned widely, showing Parrot the glint in his eyes that he has come to love and adore. The sparkle of innocence not yet tainted by power. Parrot hadn't been sure up until this point that Spoke still had it in him.
Spoke turned around, this time facing the pitch black void, the cold merciless void. His rainbow coloured bandana flapping slightly against the stagnant wind of the End.

Parrot turns to look up at Spoke in these last few moments. Spoke looks back up at Parrot and grins, his pale white eyes not revealing even a glint of emotion. Perhaps, Spoke was resigned now, knowing that this was the end of the road for both of them.
