Summary

The painful, slow process of healing leads her to make big changes in her life. She sheds some old relationships, and hopes she'll build some new ones. If only Malfoy would stop distracting her...
Notes on Canon Compliance: This fic begins in the in-universe year 2002. Hermione has started her new Ministry job in Magical Law Enforcement. Ron and Harry are Aurors. Hermione and Ron have been married for three years, and have no children. To the best of my knowledge, this set-up is canon compliant, but it will diverge from here.
