Summary
In Corrieander's "Words Before Powers," Alexander and Alina are soulmates with their first words inscribed on their skin. They say each others' words before either of them realize she's the Sun Summoner. This remix (with gracious permission) extends that premise when Alexander delays the crossing to inspect the skiffs.
How will Alexander cope as he comes to grips with the fact that his soulmate is not the Sun Summoner but rather a scrawny Otkazat’sya cartographer? With more time in the camp, how will Alina adjust to a changing relationship with Mal and the prospect of a soulbond with the dark and distant Grisha general?

Summary
Alina is a working class girl who falls for a handsome rich man. Who turns out to be a car thief with a secret life. Who then gets into a car accident and winds up in a coma. Which is how Alina Starkov, Dunkin Donuts employee, winds up as the alleged fiancee of the very wealthy mayor's wayward son.
The family lawyer, Alexander Morozova, is initially suspicious of Alina and has the feeling that there's something deeply wrong with her engagement to Nikolai. But it could be that the real problem he has with it is that she's engaged to Nikolai and not to himself.
Starts as a mashup between While You Were Sleeping and Shameless Season One, but then slides straight into a class conscious, sugar daddy adjacent Darklina. And yet also a surreal folk tale..? ..I dunno, y'all, it's just all the things.

The first time Alina goes into the Fold and comes out as the Sun Summoner, she dies. The Druskelle succeed in ambushing the entourage and killing her on the way to the Little Palace. Then she wakes up in the barracks again, the morning of the crossing. There's Alexei on his cot, totally fine. No one is looking at her or for her... no one knows she is the Sun Summoner. She is free again.
