When Ao'nung broke his brother's heart, Lo'ak felt vindictive as his brother chose to seek comfort from his father instead of him. He had been the one who'd warned Neteyam countless times about Ao'nung. He'd been the one looking out for him.
So why did Neteyam come running to their father instead? Why had Neteyam even entertained Ao'nung's courting in the first place?
It was ridiculous when Lo'ak knew for a fact that his brother had always ached for him.

Summary
Shane holds his hand in the grocery store. He bumps their knees together under the lunch table after practice. He kisses Ilya for good luck before physio. Each and every little thing feels like a victory worthy of a rallying speech and dragging the boys out for drinks. Ilya supposes that him and Shane together, in public, still playing hockey, is probably the biggest victory of their careers.
After transferring to the Centaurs, Shane is surprisingly affectionate. Ilya isn't going to let anything change that.

“Ilya, you’re playing the Voyageurs next, in Montreal. How are you feeling about that?” An ESPN mic is held to his face.
Rozanov grins. “Really good. About time. I know we have been winning a lot, but is always the most fun to beat Montreal.”
“The situation’s kind of changed though, hasn’t it?”
“Is true.” Rozanov looks almost thoughtful. “It used to be the most fun to beat them because they had the best player on their team. Now…” Rozanov trails off. He chances a look to the side, as if to check if someone’s there or not. “Now is going to be fun because they are very stupid.” Rozanov’s face is very hard. Serious. Angry. Scary.
Or: Signing with the Montreal Voyageurs should have been the best day in Jordan Bicker’s career. If only it weren’t for Ilya Rozanov…

"Alright, listen up!" Ilya stood up on a bench in the locker room, getting his team's attention. "Tonight is a big night. We play Montreal, Shane's old team. With the exception of Boiziau and the unfortunate exception of Pike, we hate them all."
Shane sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose.
"We need to win. We need to show them what they gave up by losing Shane." Ilya continued. "My husband scores first goal tonight, is that clear?"
