Shadow is an ex monster-hunter living out his retirement alone in the woods, quite content to ignore and be ignored. One day, a charismastic hedgehog by the name of Sonic happens to walk right into Shadow's life and decides to make himself comfortable. Summary
Shadow says one cruel sentence in the middle of a fight, never realizing it cuts deeper than he could imagine.
Sonic starts to wonder if Shadow was right all along. His identity and hero work must just be a lie.
He gets the opportunity in a battle to prove to himself he can push harder, but ends up barely alive, half conscious, and feeling fuzzy in a cave.
In his confusion, Sonic is positive Shadow is now his husband and attempts to figure out marriage while Shadow desperately tries to keep him alive.
