Summary
But it’s funny, Tony thinks as he weighs the black old school technology in his hand. How angry he had been at Steve for withholding information when Tony had forgotten to mention something he had no right to hide from Steve. And he knew that how much he wanted Steve back, how much he could forgive him or even how much Steve would feel sorry and beg Tony to take him back, none of that would matter in the end, because Tony would be forced to tell him what he knew (did you know? yes.) and the roles would be reversed.
It’s funny, Tony thinks, how quick the tables can turn, and how dangerous time can be.

"Pete?" Tony called out, glancing around the boy's bedroom. The bed was empty and didn't look slept in, despite the mess of sheets and blankets strewn across it. “It’s the metal suit,” Thor informed Steve, his normally-booming voice tinny over the SHIELD comms. “What did Stark call it—Iron Man?”
“But he’s down here,” Steve protested as the Hulk roared in Stark’s face, startling him into waking with a shout. “How could—”
“It’s damaged,” Thor reported. “But it looks different. More advanced. And he—ah. He’s carrying you, Captain.”
“Please tell me nobody kissed me,” Stark breathed out, and then Stark’s voice suddenly came over the comms, but the man lying next to him hadn’t moved.
“Guys, come on, you’re killing me here. What is it, 2012? God, I hate time travel. First, I'm fighting Thanos. Now, I have to deal with my past self and Thor's bad haircut? Oh my God, Cap, yes I hacked their comms, they’re my comms.”
Steve nearly opened his mouth to protest that he hadn’t said anything when he realized that this replica of Tony Stark wasn’t speaking to him.

“Colin?!” Anthony asked, bewildered, looking at a man who was unmistakably his brother, but an utterly transformed version. For starters, this Colin appeared to be several years older than the 20-year-old he knew – and certainly broader across the shoulders. Beyond that, everything from his clothing to his deportment was more mature in a way that couldn’t occur overnight.
And then, as if the universe was determined to prove Anthony even more insane – the younger brother he was used to also appeared in the entryway, lured by the sound of his name.
“Yes, Anthony, what is it?” the more-familiar Colin asked impatiently before he caught sight of his double, and his neck whipped around. “You’re –”
“You,” the older Colin agreed, his forehead furrowing as he took in his other self. Standing across from each other, their differences were even more apparent. “As I think you’ve surmised by now, I’m the same Colin you know – only misplaced a little. By about three years, based on the context.”
