Okay, so I've had this idea floating around and have decided to let it go to you guys. See what happens.
DISCLAIMER - this is a DSBI prompt!
Anyway, a mafia au with SBI and more. Tommy is a 22-year-old aspiring comedian who has been doing stand-up at a local bar. For the past few nights, he has been getting his show interrupted by some patrons beneath him (There's a lower level to the bar for VIP or higher paying patrons), and Tommy is getting sick of it.
So despite the bartender's (Quackity maybe?) insistence on leaving them alone, Tommy goes down, slams on the door, and when it opens, proceeds to scold them about how rude it is to disturb someone's show when it's how they make a living, etc. The two men at the door are shocked and just nod their heads. One of them even apologizes for the noise and promises to quiet down, asking for the times of the show.
With that out of the way, Tommy goes on to do his show.
Those two men were Phil and Wilbur, and they are so interested in this comedian. They go to watch Tommy's show and would you look at that this kid is funny. they want to hear more. so they do what any rational people would... they kidnap him.
Tommy is a "special guest" performing for Phil and Kristin's wedding anniversary party. It lasts a little over a week and Tommy spends it doing nothing but chilling with Phil and his family, then doing shows and mingling with most of the biggest players in the criminal underworld. Sheinagans and bonding ensues, and the family has decided that they love this kid and want all the good things for him, even though it's obvious he doesn't want to join their "work family"
Tommy wakes up in his apartment. It's like the whole thing was a dream. The only thing that says it isn't the fact that the balance in his bank account has gone up a couple of digits and the thank you card on his nightstand.
Sorry this is long. i omitted so much of my og notes. I thought this would a fun one for somebody. i hope to write it someday but until then i leave it some else to take a crack at it. Is there nothing better than two cakes right?
Fun fact, this is inspired but a the story of Al Capone's men kidnapping a musician for his Bday.

I love the idea of Tommy being part zombie, patient zero type shit. Being able to walk among zombies like he's one of them, losing himself at night. I would love one with SBI in it as well.
I like the idea of Technoblade just going crazy on a hoard of Zombies and after they are all dead dead at the break of dawn he spots Tommy just watching him from afar.
You could do a cure type of thing, or just making it so they work around it in some way.

So what I'm thinking is a time loop fic BUT!
The time loop is part of a curse that one of SBI (idc who really) gets and he needs to break out of it.
The catch?
Everytime he saves someone from death (but not all of them) they become aware of the timeloop.Ex. tommy saves phil from a car wreck, Phil remembers all the times tommy has saved him
BUT
If the character dies, then! Then! they go back to being unaware about the loop.I really like this concept and I want to see people play around with it if they want to. I've not seen many fics with this concept.

Summary
During the L’manburg war instead of the Discs, Dream asks tommy to leave L’manburg and rejoin the essempi as the condition for independence. Essentially, a political hostage au! Tommy is Dreams citizen and first and foremost but- he is allowed to visit l’manburg. Sometimes.
So early exile but Dream can't get away with much because Tommy is still close to a lot of people.
Just Tommy over time away from L'manburg learning that attachments aren't bad and how to interpret why he is attached.
ex; He loves the discs because the represent him being alive and real. He loves the bandana because it represents him being Tubbo’s friend. He loves L’manburg because it represents safety and home. He disliked Dream because he constantly took things too far. (feel free to play around with his reasoning for attachments)

Summary
In which bench trio are your typical teens that escaped from foster care and are now trying to scrape by with their shitty jobs and ramshackle apartment
Until they get the opportunity to "audition" to become superhero trainees, with great paychecks and city-wide recognition !
The thing is, Ranboo and Tubbo both have really cool powers (pick whatever you fancy) but Tommy’s ability is perfect mimicry of people’s voices. Which is great to make prank calls and stuff but does not get you taken in at the heroes.
So his two roommates are enrolled as trainees with awesome and busy lives while he stays a minimal wage employee. And since his friends don’t often have the time to come home, he gradually becomes very lonely.
That is until he meets his new neighbor, Wilbur, an initial annoyance that he soon develops a brotherly relationship with.
At the same time, he also encounters the infamous Blade and Angel of Death (or whatever other villain names you’ve got for them). They are quite distressed because the third member of their trio, Siren (Wilbur obviously) has gone missing mysteriously.. And they need him and his enthralling brainwash voice thingy to keep fighting the heroes.
That’s where Tommy comes in- With his imitation power, he can mimick Siren’s timbre and be of use to them
Now, how come Wilbur has disappeared but is also Tommy’s neighbor? What kind of identity shenanigans will this whole imbroglio cause? That’s up for you to decide!

Techno is an apprentice under Phil, a talented apothecary. Techno also has a side gig as an assassin (or he could just be a serial killer idrc point is he uses the medicinal herbs to kill people. Phil knows there's something up with his apprentice, but he's not sure what. All he knows is that his stores are being used up suspicoiously quickly and the only other person in the shop is Techno.

Okay, so
character (the camera pans to techno because I am who I am but other characters also good here) gets hired as a new superhero
young and scrappy, fast with the quips, god at their job, they quickly acquire the attention of some villains. it's not a friendship, not exactly, but the hero gets to know them, gets to expect them to show up, gets used to their fighting style. the villains grin when they see them. other superhero trainees joke that they've got a nemesis.
superhero is doing well. going to be promoted. this makes the news, new trainees joining official ranks.
and the next time they fight the villains, it's— different. they hit harder. they're trying to trap them. the villains capture them and drag them away.
Superhero is betrayed. Biting. Never going to give in. The villains don't torture them, though. Nothing happens. Villains make some kind of a joke about not having thought this far, they just couldn't see another trainee get promoted, and the hero does not laugh. you kidnapped me because I'm GOOD AT MY JOB? With no plan? Well yeah, I/we wanted to keep you around. promotion fucks people up, you know. it's not— it's not what you think. Hero bites again.
Villains keep not sealing the deal and killing them. Hero is not messing around, they escape, busting out and making it home. they are welcomed home by other trainees, and their bosses are a little bit like humph you missed your scheduled shifts. You won't be prompted this time. Hero promises that they'll do better in the future. They know better that the villains aren't their friends now.
Promotion cycle happens. a few of their friends move forward. hero gets left behind. They kick their villains in the face a few times and also they do NOT stay to chat any more. They know better, villains are untrustworthy, they've got weird aims, right? they wanted to KEEP me.
hero meets one of their friends who got promoted. they're faster now, better powers, hero congratulates them. their friend just looks through them like they're not there and leaves
hero is— stung, but like. there's something wrong here. they KNOW their friend. were they told not to engage with failed trainees? but no, they looked— there was no recognition in their eyes. something's weird. something doesn't add up. and the way the villains acted.
well hero has been nosy before and they'll stop that when they're dead. they start to investigate. they look some places they shouldn't. it is really difficult to find anything out about promotion? why all the secrecy? dog with a bone, they're more and more determined to know what's going on. their friend goes out and punches through concrete. the villains are weird. their handler says approvingly that they might get promoted next time.
they break in finally. they get their hands on their files. they read, with almost a lack of a surprise but increasing horror, face cast in blue light, about how promotion is a fucking body horror situation where the otherworldly entity who came to this planet about twenty years ago harvests the most powerful fighters and warps them, taking over their minds and bodies to shape them to their aims.
and their friend got taken for that
and they're due to get promoted at the end of the week
and their villains knew about this, somehow, and wanted to save them
and no one would believe this even if they told them, the heroes are beloved. heroname, who heads the organization since they founded it 20 years ago, is a household name.
they are alone, breakable, and in very, very deep shit
and then what happens next? well, you follow your bliss

Okay so. Premise. Vampire saliva can stop people from aging. Hat tip derby in the constellations server for this idea. They can lock people into their own minds and stop them aging so that they are perpetually small and cuddly and can't really think straight enough to resist. Forever. My premise is that you are a blorbo, and you know the vampires have your friend, and you have a LIMITED TIME to get your friend the fuck OUT of there or they drown in their own brain, stuck as a child forever.
The idea that comes to mind for this for me is schlatt has tubbo and tommy is trying to get him out, or wilbur is trying to get tommy out. But if you have different blorbos in mind, rock up with it.
My tendency for this one is to have a race against time and the person gets their friend the hell back and they escape into the distance. However if you want to take it a horror route and the person trying to get their friend out fails— go on with your bad self.

* vampires who are terrifying because they look human, and talk human, and then they do something and you realize once again that you are literally a pet to them, and the door to the cage has been closing this whole time

Look, i have lived on a tight budget for a while and I think the opportunities of benchtrio+ having to live with no money are untapped comedy potential. I think we can do wacky hijinks with this. please walk with me. i'd like us to consider a fun new option. what if dark sbi but tommy is a manipulative bastard AND he succeeds? I know, I know, this is a good concept. Think of the possibilities! Options include: sbi is trying to yoink him but tommy has been pulling the strings the whole time, sbi doesn't know what the hell is going on but tommy has been laying his beautiful traps, sbi and tommy are both aware that they are locked in a high stakes spy versus spy game but tommy gets the final upper hand.
I just think there's so many ways you can play this out. Mundane setting. Serial killers. Mafia. Fantasy AU. Dragon AU. Superhero AU if you want. Royalty AU. Urban Fantasy. Tommy gets to go home to his happy suburban life he has arranged all the pieces for. Tommy gets to be the middle of a sandwich in the nest for cuddles because he's Won. Tommy gets his people kneeling at his feet where they belong. I love sunshine tommy— tommy can even BE sunshine as part of this— but i will admit that I also love a bastard character and I think we can hit tommy with the beam of "oh holy shit you did WHAT holy shit do that again" for our readers.

okay so like. inter-generational friendship is so special to me. The specific complications of phil and tubbo's rocky relationship, and how tubbo just keeps showing up, and phil keeps going alright tubbo is here, and then they hang out and don't talk about it???? exquisite. seven more of these fics please waiter. I am equally happy with a canon reflection and with something in an au where they have that sort of relationship that has knots in it but they are both REPRESSING boy have you ever seen people who are so bad with emotions. And phil and eryn— god we have one (1) stream (sand-digging stream my beloved) but I think the potential of young soldier so bright and ready to go and Phil older survivalist who is tired is something that can be so special to me. Second of all, you know I've literally never read TOMMY gets out of prison and goes to recover at the arctic commune? this is because of canon [a loud truck roars by, drowning that voice out]. Anyone hear a weird voice for a minute? Anyways don't even worry about it.
