Perfect fake boyfriend

Chapter Text

Soon after Greg and Hollie were finally able to have their special moment they walked down the aisle, everyone else slowly making their way out as well to congratulate the newly wed couple. George and Dream did so as well, though they let everyone else congratulate them first. Some even came up to them to tell them how horrible it was of Steven to talk to them like that. Zoey came to them as well, making sure her favourite cousin was doing okay after that outburst. But when she saw how Dream was making sure to be there for George every single second, she knew that he was doing okay.

When the crowd started to fade George and Dream were finally able to congratulate them as well. George and Hollie were happily hugging each other while Dream was having a conversation with Greg. "I'm sorry for what happened." Greg said, scratching the back of his head, not really sure how to handle the situation. "Don't worry. You are not responsable for your dad's actions after all." Dream smiled at him, reassuring him that it was okay. "You know, you seem like a cool enough guy Clay." Dream lifted his eyebrow, smile turning into a smirk. "And what's that supposed to mean?"

"It means, I'm happy that you are that one that George brought along. I'm happy he has you." Dream wasn't going to lie, hearing that from Greg meant a lot. Not because he wanted his approval, but because it showed that Greg really was trying and already succeeding. "Gays aren't so bad after all, huh?" Greg rolled his eyes, moving his head with them just like George does whenever he called Dream an idiot. Seems like it runs in the family.

"Please, I said I'm trying. Cut me some slack." They grinned at each other.

Some people had already left, others was currently saying bye to everyone. George and Dream stayed however, talking some more with Greg, Hollie or Zoey. When they were the last ones there, they finally said their goodbyes too. "See you tomorrow then." Greg said to them, waving as he brought the two women and their grandparents home. George's mother had left some time ago without really saying anything. But George was too exhausted to beat himself up about that.

After a taxi drive that felt like forever they finally got back to their hotel. Louis was packing some towels onto a carriage, spotting them when they walked in. "Oh, hey you two! How was the wedding?" George didn't really pay much mind, leaning onto Dream's back when they stopped walking. "Hey Louis. It was nice for the most part." George grumbled, nudging his face closer into Dream's suit jacket. It made the other two laugh. "It was, except for the part where my uncle charged at us." He mumbled wich caused Louis to lift his brow. Since George didn't continue Dream elaborated. "His uncle isn't exactly the nicest person. He's very homophobic and did not like seeing George with me at his son's wedding." Louis's look shifted to a sad one. "I'm sorry to hear that. I hope everything else was enjoyable." Dream nodded. "It was."

"Dream, 'm tired." Dream and Louis chuckled again at Georges behaviour. "Alright, I won't bother you two anymore. George looks exhausted." Dream shook his head. "Oh please, you aren't bothering at all." Dream smiled the same smile he showed Louis that evening when he served them as their waiter. Louis smiled at him, but differently this time. He placed his hand onto Dreams upper arm who tilted his head, looking at him, still with that smile on his face. "You should be more careful who you look at with that smile." Louis's eyes wandered down to George who was almost asleep at this point, then back up at the blonde he still had his hand on.

Dream was confused. "What?" But Louis just smiled and left, taking the carriage with the towels with him. Dream looked after him, confused as ever. However, said confusion quickly faded when George pushed into him again, making his presence known. Dream forgot what Louis had said, George now the only thing on his mind. "Come on, let's get you to our room."

They arrived at their door wich Dream opened with their card. George slithered past him, flopping himself onto their bed. Dream laughed at him. "You should dress out of your suit before you sleep." He said matter of factly. Goerge was unimpressed though, grumbling out an answer. "Can't. Too tired. You do it." Dream had pulled off his jacket, leaving it over a seat in their rented room, laughing at George's response. "That's one way to say you want me to undress you." the teasing undertone slipping right into George's ears. "Shut up." George mumbled, not moving except the blood that uncontrollably rushed to his cheeks.

It was silent for a moment after that. Dream loosened his tie, leaving it over the seat just like his jacket before rolling up his sleeves and unbuttoning a few of the top buttons of his shirt. "George?" his voice became a little bit more timid. The other made a noise as response, still not moving. Dream sat down on one side of the bed with a sigh. "Should we... talk about what happened?" George moved now, but only his head. He turned it to look at him. "Huh?" George's brain rattled, tiredly trying to figure out what Dream meant. The latter sighed, looking at him, trying not to turn red. "You know, about the- well, it didn't actually happen, so it wasn't an actual one. But it still happened, so-" George sat up now, looking at Dream confused. "What are you talking about?" Dream looked him straight in the eyes, definitely failing at trying not to turn red. "The kiss."

George's eyes widened ever so slightly, his mouth forming into a little 'o'. "Oh, that." he said after a few seconds of silence. He bit his lip, really trying to calm himself. A few more beats of silence went by. "Yeah, that." Dream said, wetting his lips afterwards. It wasn't intentional. He was just nervous. But the small act sent George into orbit. What was he supposed to do? In desperation he blurted out the first thing that came to mind.

"Well, technically we didn't even do anything? So is there even something to talk about? I mean, it was probably just a 'in the heat of the moment' situation. So really, in the end it isn't even a big thing. Nothing important-"

"George." Dream interrupted, very annoyed at the older one's ramble. George grew quiet immediately. "Sorry." He said, looking down at the mattress now. Dream sighed. "Maybe for you it was nothing. But for me- for me it was something." He didn't look up. Neither did.

"What... exactly do you mean by something?" George asked after a minute, now looking at Dream and not daring to take his eyes off of him. "I- I don't know." That wasn't true. He knew. He had known it for so long now.

That something. He knew exactly what it was.

It was love.

"I-" George tried his best to bring himself to say something. He hated seeing that look in Dreams eyes. As if he was feeling the need to hide himself. So he took all the courage his still tired brain could muster and started to talk. "I also felt something..."

That made Dream look up at him. The recent look in his eyes changed into something else. Something more hopeful.

"I- I also don't know what it is though. I just- I felt weird. It was all so much at once." Dream slowly moved his legs up onto the bed, shifting a little closer to George. But not too close to not possibly scare him away. "Can you try to explain to me your something during that moment?"

George nodded slightly, trying to remember how he felt being so close to Dream. How the realization made him feel. "Well... it is all a little fuzzy, thinking about it. Not in the moment itself though, I remember I somehow was able to only focus on you. I felt incredibly hot, like burning up from the inside. And after Greg walked in I just felt that weird tingle and confusion, not able to stop thinking about it."

Dream patiently listened, feeling his heart quicken up with every word George spoke. "I'm sorry. This probably sound's really stupid." George laughed pettily more at himself than at his words. Dream shook his head, extending his hand to lay it onto George's knee. The touch felt like it was burning through his clothes. "It's not stupid." Dream gave George a smile when he looked back at him. "I actually felt pretty much the same."

George went red. Though, considering their topic he probably was already red the entire time. "Really?" Dream nodded. "Yeah."

George fiddled with his fingers, glancing away every once in a while. He couldn't bring himself to hold constant eye contact. "What now?" he asked quietly. Dream moved his hand a mere inch, carefully saying his thought out loud. "We could try it? For real this time." George turned his head, embarrassedly looking away. "That sounds stupid." he chuckled to hide his nervousness. Though with not much success. Dream leaned back a bit again. "We don't have to." He said. He thought he was able to to cover up the hurt in his voice. But George noticed. Of course he did. Dream was right after all. He was able to read him like an open book. A book that only he could read.

"It was just an idea." Dream still didn't look at him, further shifting away as to not make George uncomfortable. George studied the blonde, biting his lip as he considered if he should go for it. He was very curious how it would feel like to kiss Dream. God, it was embarrassing to think like that. But he made his choice. He very slowly reached for Dreams hand that was starting to move away just like the rest of Dream. "That-" he started, very lightly letting his fingers touch Dream's skin. He immediately looked back at him. "sounds like a very-" he breathed in, holding his breath in as he let his fingers curl around Dream's, lifting up his hand when he exhaled to put it in his other one. "stupid idea." He lifted his eyes off of the slightly bigger, tanner hand in his two smaller, more fragile ones. And with that, their eyes met. Despite what George had said, there was a twinkle in his eyes. The faintest of smiles embellishing his lips. Dream looked back at him, absolutely mesmerized.

The air was thick. The tension was even thicker. But it was perfect for what was about to come. Dream had let George guide himself back closer to him, following when George had slightly pulled his hand still in his towards him, looking so much more endearing than usual. Dream lifted his free hand, keeping it close to George's cheek without actually touching it. He was scared of what was okay to do and what wasn't. When George didn't do anything to indicate that he wasn't against it, Dream let his hand move onto his cheek. They were close now. Dream looked at his lips. They were still in that faint, almost nonexistent smile that made him melt. He looked back up to see pure, raw emotions in his brown eyes. Emotions that were for him to discover. He let out a hot breath of anticipation. He felt George shiver. It made him even more hungry for his lips.

He locked eyes, not giving George the option to lock away. He didn't want to anyway. The eye contact was intense. As if in slow motion he inched closer with his face. The intense eye contact started to fade as both closed their eyes and finally connect their lips.

The kiss was slow, both holding back, experimentally moving just a little. George let go of Dream's hand to let his own ones move into Dream's shoulders, finding a good grip to keep himself steady. Dream's now free hand found it's place onto George's thigh, rubbing slow circles into them. It felt good. So good.

George's grip tightened on Dream's shoulders, pulling him in slightly closer. Dream did not hesitate, leaning in to deepen the kiss more than the other had intended. George breathed in surprised of the sudden harshness. The kiss was still rather innocent, not full on making out. But it felt so much more intimate at the moment. Dream pressed onto him, leaning in even further, pushing his hand up George's thigh, steadying part of his weight onto it. George's right hand started to shake a little. It was all so much. It felt amazing, like a massive rush of some sort of drug flowing through his veins. George couldn't help himself and let out a shaky breath, ending the kiss with it. Dream was still hanging onto his lips, sweetly kissing George's bottom lip. It made his whole body shake.

Dream opened his eyes. Seeing George so close, eyes tightly shut, brows furrowed, lips kissed red and slightly parted, breathing heavily, it made him fall even more for the brunette. He leaned away a little, waiting for George to react. He didn't. "George?" he asked, lifting his hand away from his cheek to boop his nose. George opened his eyes, blinking rapidly. "Whoa..." Dream chuckled, mostly amused but also a little anxious. "That bad?" he asked jokingly. George gulped, only hurriedly shaking his head as a response. Dream smiled at him.

They didn't move out of their position, silently enjoying the closeness. "And? What did you feel?" Dream asked after a while. George gulped, trying to find the right words. "Literally everything and anything." Dream chuckled at the response. "Me too." He confirmed, moving his hand through George's hair wich made the smaller one smile like an idiot. Neither of them mentioned the word love. They didn't need to for now. Everything was good just how it was right now.

They ended up cuddling under the blanket after Dream had convinced George to at least put off his pants and jacket he was still wearing. George very naggingly complied, quickly throwing off his clothes to jump right back into Dream's arms, cuddling onto him with a contagious smile on his face. He fell asleep very quickly, exhaustion from before coming back quite intense. Dream was awake a little longer, happily holding George close and lovingly stroking his head. Eventually he fell asleep as well.
