Work Text:
Caitlyn sighed, stretching her legs on the edge of a small, pool-sized bathtub. She pressed a Jacuzzi button, letting the bubbles massage away the exhaustion of the last few days.
She just cracked a case that was nothing but sleepless nights, months of careful investigation, indifferent cops who bounced her from door to door, and a suspect who had managed to evade her all this time, despite being so close. But she never gave up, not until the victim had justice and saw her abuser behind bars.
Even the thought of the cycle of covered-up criminals in the police force made Caitlyn shiver and sink deeper into the water, puffing a cloud of scented foam away from her face. She saw the hatred in those officers’ eyes when their chief was escorted away—the same one who had tried his hardest to confuse her and lead her in the wrong direction.
But now the case was closed, the verdict was satisfactory, and the victim found closure. It felt good, although the whole thing left her frustrated, for lack of a better word.
Cait sighed, nearly inhaling a chestful of water, and threw her head back, resting it against the edge of the bathtub. She closed her eyes, trying to forget it all, to replace the unpleasant memories with something lighthearted and as mindless as possible.
They should do something nice this week - there was a restaurant Vi really wanted to try. Maybe she needs a manicure - not anything fancy, but she’s a lawyer and her short, neat nails should look impeccable.
Or maybe she needs to be pampered by a pair of strong arms. A foot massage would be welcome, or even a full-body one - after all, Vi’s arms were strong, and she was really good with her hands. In more than one sense.
She didn’t train for nothing, after all - and Caitlyn felt it every time she asked to open a jar or lift something heavy - not because she was weak, oh, no. She just needed to see these muscles ripple under Vi’s tattooed skin.
They were married for years, but it didn’t make her see her wife any differently - on the contrary, with every year that passed, she felt herself falling for that woman more and more. They met when Vi was in a rough spot - freshly out of jail, her sister in the hospital, her dad had suddenly died. She was fighting for her life and losing.
And now the only thing she needed to fight for was Caitlyn’s clingy dogs, who fell in love with soft-hearted butch the same day they met her. They were happy together, despite being so different. Everyone around Caitlyn told her they weren’t a match. Cait was half a decade older, born into wealth, an upstanding citizen with not a speck on her reputation.
And Vi was… Vi. Hot-headed, straightforward, poor, and extremely combative. Still, no one who judged Caitlyn for being with Vi knew anything about her. Vi was the only one who decided to fight a mob boss who held an entire part of the city in terror. While the cops did nothing, she acted. But although her loved ones could live free now, it didn't come without a price.
She didn’t get a big sentence - five years for murder was a slap on the wrist. But it still wasn’t fair - she didn’t deserve it for cleansing the city. It almost destroyed her - her family fell apart while she was away, and it took years to put it back together, brick by brick.
She worked extremely hard to get to where she was now - slowly building her career as a personal trainer. That’s where they met - Caitlyn, who came to fix the back pain she developed from sitting at her desk from dusk till dawn, and Vi, who let out an audible gasp when their eyes met.
It didn’t fade with time - not the passion, not the gentleness, not the deep, limitless love. It only grew deeper. They grew together. They discovered together. They carefully learned about each other’s bodies and souls, treating each other almost with reverence.
They hated being apart even during their work hours, but they made it a habit to video call at every possible moment. And now Caitlyn missed Vi so much that she started to feel a bit queasy. So she sat up and reached for her phone, drowning it in foam and scented bathwater.
Vi answered after exactly one ring, as she always did, and Caitlyn smiled, placing the device on the small book holder on the rim of the tub. It gave Vi a clear view and kept her hands free.
“Hey, cupcake!” Vi sounded a bit out of breath, her hair, damp with sweat, glued to her neck. She wore a tiny “man bun” that Caitlyn thought was too hipster, but it was the only way Vi could keep her thick mane of hair out of her face. She put the phone on one of the machines and stepped away to help someone Caitlyn couldn’t see with their sets. “Something up?”
“No, just missed you.” Caitlyn hummed, absently playing with a strand of her wet hair. She watched Vi bend down, her tank top with huge sleeve holes revealing a nice view of her taped chest, and bit her lower lip. Everything Vi did, how she moved, what she wore, even in a sweaty shirt and gray trainers that had seen better days, was extremely attractive. Caitlyn paused, then remembered that today was, indeed, an important one. “We won.”
“Oh my god, babe! This is huge!” Vi mouthed ‘good job’ to someone and picked up her phone from its makeshift stand. “How are you feeling?”
“Better, because I see you,” Caitlyn gave Vi an awkward, slightly coquettish smile, fully aware of how cheesy she sounded.
“I don’t have any more clients. I can come home if you want?” Vi shrugged nonchalantly, but her sharp, silvery eyes probably caught Caitlyn’s horny blush.
But how could she not be? Vi looked heated—her tanned, freckled skin a pretty, pink shade, her body, carefully sculpted by hours and hours of training, covered in tiny droplets of sweat. Her hair was messy—whatever longer strands were pulled into a bun, everything else was sticking out chaotically, yet artfully placed, as if she were being prepared for a sexy photoshoot by a high-end designer.
Before Caitlyn met Vi, she had never known muscles could be so defined. Vi was a statue, crafted by the hands of a genius, and right now Caitlyn wanted to run her palms, and later her tongue, over every ripple and crevice. And then let those shapely, strong arms handle her and make her arch and moan.
So the only sound she could muster was a moan, which she tried to mask under the quiet “mhm”, but Vi’s eyes were already widening. Of course, she had a good view of Caitlyn - she saw her squirming and rubbing her knees together in a futile attempt to relieve the tension.
“Okay, I’m going home,” Vi said with so much determination that she sounded like a superhero, ready to take off, up, up, and away. Toward her lover, who looked more and more aroused by everything Vi did.
“Can you stay with me?” Caitlyn asked, shyly, as if they’d never done a phone session before. “But… be careful.”
“Don’t worry, baby. It’s just a ten-minute walk.” Vi reassured, throwing a battered black leather jacket over her shoulders and walking out, shouting a quick goodbye to her colleagues, who weren’t fast enough to answer even if they tried.
The last thing Caitlyn wanted was to distract Vi so much that she would walk into traffic, so she squeezed her thighs together, trying to find relief and keeping both her hands in Vi’s field of view.
“Hey, you can touch yourself, babygirl,” Vi cooed – she seemed to get a grip on her initial urge to run to Caitlyn and, instead, slowed down, walking a slightly longer route through the park than Caitlyn expected from her. “Today was a hard day. You deserve it.”
“I thought you wanted to come and make me feel good.” Caitlyn tried to sound playful, but the tension cracked her voice mid-sentence, and she grimaced at how unsexy it sounded for a moment.
It didn’t have the same effect on Vi, though, who gave her a gentle, encouraging smile. “I want to see you, Cait. I want to see you touching yourself. I want to see your pleasure.”
Caitlyn knew Vi wasn’t lying. She was this selfless, caring butch who could spend hours worshipping Caitlyn’s body, making her feel her love, her touch in every cell of her body. Her love was unconditional, not transactional, and she genuinely enjoyed Caitlyn’s pleasure as much, even if not more, than Caitlyn herself.
So Caitlyn slipped her hand between her legs, rubbing a few shy, soothing circles on her clit, her eyes firmly on Vi’s. She caught her lover’s smile, so gentle and encouraging that it made Caitlyn relax and finally part her knees, allowing her to find a better angle.
“Good girl.” VI smiled, and this short little phrase sent a jolt of pleasure straight through Caitlyn’s body, sending it between her legs. She whined, biting her lower lip and feeling a large drop of slick leaving her core that clenched around nothing.
Vi knew what she was doing—she looked nonchalant, walked slowly, greeted an old man, and complimented the huge stick that his dog proudly carried through the quiet park. And Caitlyn, whose head already spun from arousal, saw Vi’s neck muscles tensing when she turned away, was slowly losing it, her fingers working overtime over her clit, making her hips buck towards her own movements and her knees shake.
“I see you, baby. You are doing so well. Let it go, baby, let yourself feel it all.” Vi’s voice was quiet and gentle, and it made something inside Caitlyn break, her walls crumble, her feelings finally taking over.
She slipped her fingers inside, moving erratically, ignoring the water splashing onto the floor, ignoring the tears streaming down her face. She could finally switch off her ever-working brain and let herself just… be. To exist in this very moment, to let her stress, grief, disgust, and fear wash away.
She fingered herself erratically, feeling the release closer and closer until it took over, making her arch and tremble, her whimpers now wet, throaty moans. She closed her eyes, trying to steady her breathing, feeling her thoughts return, but everything that had bothered her was now dull, left somewhere in the background. Someday she will leave those memories behind, maybe not today, but soon. And she knows Vi will be the one to help her through it.
She opened her eyes to an empty, blackened screen, but as soon as she felt the anxiety creeping back in, she heard Vi’s heavy footsteps heading toward the bathroom. Caitlyn stood up, letting the water drip from her skin, and looked at her hands. Her fingers were wrinkled from at least an hour-long bath, and she made a disgusted face.
“I look like boiled chicken,” Caitlyn groaned, but Vi just laughed, throwing a towel around her and pulling her out of the water, ignoring the wet spot that spread across her shirt.
“Well marinated, though, beautiful.” Vi set her down and wiped tears from Caitlyn’s face. She pulled a little white flower tucked behind her belt and tucked it into Caitlyn’s hair, making a quiet ‘pop’ as a sound effect, then stepped back to evaluate her own work. “Gorgeous, especially paired with your sidelong glance.”
“You are walking on a razor-thin line,” Caitlyn grunted, but Vi only laughed, probably finding her menacing glare adorable.
“Can I repent by offering a long-overdue full-body massage?” Vi pulled Caitlyn toward the bedroom, and she followed without thinking, letting a towel slip off her shoulders. “If someday I whine that my job is stressful, remind me you are a lawyer. One single case would probably knock me out.”
“And I would do it again,” Caitlyn sighed. She couldn’t help herself—cracking cold or difficult cases was her whole personality, and she wouldn’t change it for the world.
“I know,” Vi answered simply, turning around and cradling Caitlyn’s face in her palms. “That’s why I love you, my brave girl.”
